What does Epassi cost for our company?

I would like to introduce Epassi to our company. How does it happen?
Start the setup by choosing benefits from the predefined options or create a custom benefit package tailored to your needs. The ready-made packages include carefully selected benefits suitable for various requirements.

After placing your order, we will register your company in Epassi within approximately 5 business days. After that, you can add employees to the system, and the benefits will be automatically allocated to them according to the settings you selected.

If you would like to allocate benefits yourself, register to Epassi GO and after your payment has been handled at Epassi,  the benefits are available for employiees. 
Do I need to offer benefits to all employees?
According to the tax authorities’ guidelines, employee benefits (sport & culture, massage, dental and health) must be collective, meaning they should be offered to all staff in order to meet the conditions for tax exemption. You can read more in the tax authority’s guidelines.

For example, benefits can be distributed differently to fixed-term or part-time employees. Fringe benefits (lunch and commuting) can be allocated to individual employees or groups of employees in different ways. You can find more information in the Finnish Tax Administration’s guidelines.
How does tax authorities regulate the taxing of the benefits?

The tax authority defines the annual maximum values for employee benefits in its decisions. Based on these decisions, Epassi recommends observing the following maximum values:

  • Sport & Culture benefit: €400
  • Massage benefit: €400
  • Dental benefit: €3,000
  • Health benefit: €3,000
  • Commuting benefit: €3,400, but for benefits exceeding €900, the employer must verify the employee’s actual travel costs.
  • Lunch benefit: €8.60 – €13.70 per working day, with an average of 21 working days per month.

Most employers choose to offer the lunch benefit at the full maximum value of €13.70. The employee’s share (deductible) of the lunch benefit is 75% or at least €8.60, while the employer pays the remaining portion, i.e., up to 25%.

The employee’s deductible can be handled in two ways:

  1. The deductible is handled in the employee’s salary. For this, you can obtain statistics on benefit usage per employee from Epassi’s online service.

  2. The employee pays the co-payment directly using their MyMoney balance in the Epassi app. When the employee loads MyMoney into the app, they receive a corresponding employee benefit balance to use. This way, you do not need to manage co-payment deductions at all.
